El franquismo is the name given to the period of rule of Franco ie the Franco years or the Franco system

Fusiones frías are, as the words suggest, Cold Mergers. A Cold Merger exists when two business combine only certain parts of their organisation thus remaining with their own identity and finances. This system is quite relevant today with the economic crisis as some of Spains savings banks have been discussing such mergers.

Thank you, esp for the second passage. By the way, I have never encountered the English equivalent of "fusiones frías " in the economic sense, have you?
