Okay, so I need to work on the wording better. But if users are intermediate or advanced or fluent in Spanish, please cut us beginners some slack. Gracias! - bandit51jd, Jul 26, 2010
Cake is a word in Lesson 1.3 so I take it at face value to learn the word in Spanish - el pastel. - bandit51jd, Jul 26, 2010
Another user in a list used the word dessert and translated that in Spanish - el pastel - bandit51jd, Jul 26, 2010
I did use the dictionary and found dessert there is el postre. So all this created that poorly worded question! Now what was I to do but try!! LOL Also, the first answer creates more questions and I hope it's okay to start new threads. - bandit51jd, Jul 26, 2010

I don't quite understand your questions.

There are many ways to refer to "cake" in Spanish, depending on where you are:

Torta, tarta, pastel, bizcocho...

Dessert is "postre". But of course, you could find all that in the dictionary, so what is it that is confusing you?
