What is the best way to say "it is humid"?

I am wondering how to say "it is humid" (which it definitely is where I am).

Hay humedad.

o

Es húmedo.

I don't think "hace humedad" is right but I'm not sure. I know "hace calor" means "it is hot" but I don't think "humedad" goes with hacer.

Many thanks for your help!

Answer not as obvious as I thought.

I'll defer to a native's usage.

Hay humedad.

Es húmedo (el clima es húmedo.)

Está húmedo (used more with something is damp)

opposite of the "dry heat" of SW USA ="calor húmedo".

Thanks for the answers. The usage of "ser" and "estar" in this case still has me puzzled but at least I have some clue how to describe the unpleasant feeling outside right now.

As one TV weatherman put it, if you inhale you risk drowning. cool smirk
