This reminds of an anecdote involving the father of a friend of mine in Canada, a long time ago.
He was walking his dog in a park, when an police officer approaches him and says:
"Sir, didn't you see the sign at the entrance of the park?"
The man replied: "Yes officer I did see it, why?"
"Are you pulling my leg? You're telling me you saw the sign and you're still walking your dog in here? How come?"
"Why, yes, officer. That sign clearly states: 'No Black Dogs Allowed'. As you can plainly see, my dog is yellow!"
