Your question/request: I am speaking with someone I am romantically involved with and want to tell him to have a good shift at work tonight

í Que tengas una noche buena en trabajo, (amiguito) ! tongue wink

amiguito(a) is a diminutive of amigo/a and a more affectionate term than just saying amigo

Since you say you are romantically involved with him it shouldn't hopefully be a problem using amiguito

Enjoy your friendship together wink

tenga is formal - 0074b507, Jul 23, 2010
I always hear "Tengas buen día" thought is was subjunctive because you don't know if your going to have a good day or not. - MattM, Jul 23, 2010

How about, "Que pases una buena noche en trabajo, mi amorcito."

I think it should be: que te pases una noche etc.... - FELIZ77, Jul 23, 2010
like: "Que te pases un buen fin de semana" - FELIZ77, Jul 23, 2010
