peninsular spanish=castellano spoken in mainland Spain. In, for example, the Balearic Islands they refer to mainland Spain as La Peninsula
In peninsular spanish:
I'm going to the post office-> "Voy a la oficina de Correos" or as well "Voy a Correos"
Correos, more informal
oficina de correos more formal
El edificio de correos
Correos
Voy para el edificio de correos.
Voy al correo
Hi Garry,
Welcome to the Forum.
I am not quite sure if you are asking a question or commenting on something that you have noticed?
I agree that in Spain, "los correos" can refer both to the post and to the post office, e.g. "Voy a los correos", "I'm going to the post office".
