In class, we are learning the different ways in which you can use the preposition "a"

In one way I do not understand:

"a lexicalizadada"(this is the name of one of the functions in how "a" is used):

A este grupo también pertenecen las a requeridas por verbos específicos. Por ejemplo, el verbo llamar, que debe aprenderse con la preposición a incluida(Llamé a Juan o Llamé al hospital)

So how do I know which verbs require this a? Im guessing these are a list of verbs I should have to memorize? where can i find these verbs?

one such list

Notice that llamar is not one of the verbs that requires an "a". Llamé a Juan. That "a" is the personal "a" and not the same context.

llamar al hospital=usually used in telephoned, but

lamar el hospital=name does require an "a", ¿Cómo se llama el hospital?

Since the "a" only follows llamar in certain contexts (telefonear/to hail) it is not considered a verb + "a".

Okay, so are there any other verbs that follow this ''a'' like in llamar?
