Dear Span!shD!ct friends,

Every week I have a 'Letter van de week' wich is Dutch for: 'Letter of the week'. ( I'm from The Netherlands) This week I made the dicision to learn Spanish, so this week I've started with the first letter: A! I've made picto's of 20 words that start with the letter A and have put them on my fridge to read every day. (Think of words like: Amarillo, abajo etc.) It realy works and is so much fun!

Next week I will be putting up words that start with a B. Woul'd you like to help me out with some fun words to learn that start with a B?

Looking forward to your answers!

thanx,

Ilse

cool idea with the pictures on the fridge! - MeEncantanCarasSonrisas, Jul 22, 2010
It realy works too! First looking up words, then finding picto's and writing the words, then reading them alot and saying them out loud. - IlseD, Jul 23, 2010
Eddy, thanks for pointing that out for me. Speeking Eglish is easy for me, but I rarely write in English so this is a good practise - IlseD, Jul 23, 2010

Have you considered using the dictionary here? When you enter the letter B it will provide you with a list of several words. For variety, enter combinations such as bl, br, bo, etc. and each time you will get a list. Select the ones that look interesting to you .

Hi, I used my own dictionary this week, but this is a good tip! Thank you. - IlseD, Jul 22, 2010
I tried today, but it doesn't work like this. Only when you fill in a whole word it works. - IlseD, Jul 23, 2010

You can also post that in the games section of the forum and people will answer your question with other words/pictures.

I would suggest that you place little yellow sticky notes on everything in your house. Lampara, nevera, planta, reloj, etc.

It's really helpful to learn the vocabulary of the things in your life rather than just random words. Soon you will find yourself with a very large vocabulary if you just take a look around your home, your job, your family members, etc.

¡Buena suerte!

That's a wonderfull idea! I have a friend that has a Dutch mom and a dad from Chili. Her dad used to do that with breakfast: they had to tell him the spanish words for everything on the table. - IlseD, Jul 23, 2010
