Rock music in Spanish?

Rock music in Spanish?

This is probably a long shot, but...

While traveling through south america, several times I've come across spanish covers of classic rock songs - songs like "Hotel California" and other really well-known songs with the same music but sung in espanol by different singers. I never really paid much attention before but was thinking this past week how good of a learning tool this would be since I already know all the english lyrics to these songs. I can't seem to find the CD locally. Has anyone else bought the cds (or similar), or is it available online somewhere?

Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the responses...still haven't been able to find it but I did end up picking up a gypsy kings cd and it is really good. Which is good because peruvian music is absolutely awful and I want to tear my hair out every time I hear it...

I think Gypsy Kings do Hotel California in Spanish - if that helps at all to find the cd smile

And in the meantime here's their lyrics:

[Hotel California Lyrics by The Gypsy Kings][1]

(In English)

Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely place

Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely place

Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely place

Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely place

(Speaking)

Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place

It isn't Hotel California, but I recently purchased some kid song CDs in Spanish off of ebay for $5 each- including S&H. They are great for learning some new words and phrases. Simple words with music makes it nice. There were no lyrics with them, but that makes it fun to see what you can pick out and I used the translator to translate the titles just to make sure I had a good idea on what the song was about.

I don't know, but I'm curious to see the answer. I heard a Spanish language version of Hotel California the other day. Very cool.
