Don't worry, some mexican people used to take a strong word, distort it and after may be used in a lovely connection. May sound incomprehensible but, that's right.
Everithing depends on the relationship's degree of privacy or trust.

ha ha! i got my friend to tell me what it means. maybe this doesn't say much about my spanish capabilities, but at least i'm persuasive! so perris is a greeting among girls kinda like "girlfriend" is in english. and it's also a greeting among people who act gay, i guess. he was only joking but i guess that's why he didn't want to tell me!

I couldn't find that exact word, but I was thinking of friends in Juarez, whose youngest daughter they called Chiquis, short for chiquita. Maybe he was refering to you as his puppy. And everybody knows puppies are sweet and lovable. Sounds reasonable, grin

mmm... yeah. i don't think it is bitch. when i've found it online it seems to be mostly about dogs like i would guess, except one video of a girl dancing that says in it's description "aqui esta la perris dando clases de baile" so i guess it can sometimes be used for people too... i don't know.
