Please explain to me of different usage of verbs " to love" Amar vs. Encantar. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Amar is to love a person (Amo mi esposo), and encantar (me encanta helado) is to love/really like a thing.

You can also use "encantar" when you meet someone for the first time. If you're a man you'd say "Encantado," which means your pleased (enchanted) to meet the person. A woman would say "Encantada."
