cross section

I posted this question earlier today. If I am trying to describe an object to someone who cannot see it, I might give length, width, height. I could describe it as egg shaped or tapering. But, often, the cross sectional shape is helpful. That's what I want to be able to describe.

Sección transversal was suggested, and I guess I will use that if nothing else comes up.
