Here is the task: You can put any passage, verse, or proverb that you wish. The only stipulation is that you post in both English and Spanish. Passages can include but are not limited to: books and/or speeches, verses can be songs, poems, etc., and proverbs can be just that, proverbs (any source). smile
No digas á tu prójimo: Ve, y vuelve, Y mañana te daré; Cuando tienes contigo qué darle. Proverbios 3:27-28
Here is mine:
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act and do not say to your neigbor, "Come back later, I'll give it tomorrow"; when you now have it with you. Proverbs 3:27-28

Jason, you need a mod for this if we are talking about translations here. Or is this copy and paste? - 00494d19, Jun 30, 2010
A mod would be great! Any suggestions? If you wouldn't mind that would be great. :) - Jason7R, Jun 30, 2010
Sorry, jason, you have to find a mod for this, unless it is a one word game you need to do that yourself. - 00494d19, Jul 1, 2010

I love almost all proverbs, Biblical and otherwise, in Spanish and English. In my opinion the 23rd Psalm, while not exactly a proverb, is so beautiful in both languages it deserves special recognition.

King James: 1 ¶ A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Proverbs 3:27-32 (King James Version)

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Proverbios 3:27-32 (Reina-Valera Antigua)

Well, this is not "copy and paste", but it is copied word for word. Any mistakes will by typos. wink

Proverbios 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath; but grievous words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Amazingly, this works. The next time someone is screaming, don't raise your voice. Just try talking calmly and softly and see how the other person calms down. smile

Calling any and all moderators or copy and paste is fine! I just want people's favorites in regards to the three categories. wink
