How do i contest this using tener?
I think you mean, "How do I answer/respond to this using the verb, 'tener'? "
¿Si (Ud). quiere aprender,qué tiene que hacer?
= If you want to learn, what do you have* to do? (or, What must you do?)
Tengo que = I have to.... then follow this verb with whatever you feel you should/must do
