A lawyer in closing argument said this:
"Being branded a felon results in being stripped of civil rights, being put in the same catagory with the worst element of society".
"Ser marcado come un delencuente resulta en ser despojado de los derechos civiles, estar puesto en la misma categoria con los peores elementos de la sociedad".
I not sure about "branded".

Check out the definition of "tildar" There is a phrase about a person being branded as something.
