The word "usar" vs. "utilizar"

Hello, I would appreciate some help on whether there is a particular use of the verb "utilizar" rather than "usar" in every day conversation.

Only because usar is a bit easier to say.

I use the word "use" more than "utilizar" and see them as "usar (to use)" and "utilizar (to utilize)."

Here's an example that I got from another thread:

Julian said:

I want to utilize / use this new car part.....Quiero utilizar / usar esta nueva pieza del coche (Either word works).

I want to use you in my new film........Te quiero usar en mi nueva película. (Just the one word works). But Utilize your talent........Utilizar tu talento is OK
