"Me llamo " means "I call myself"

"Mi nombre es" means "My name is"

So "nombre" is name and "llamo" means "I call". (Llamo is form llamar)

To be sure, "Me llamo..." does NOT mean "I call myself...." This has been discussed in other threads on SD. - MrSillyInc, Oct 4, 2011

Hola y bienvenida,

Another way of asking someones name is to ask: ¿Cuál es su nombre? Literally: What is your name? Apellido means surname/last name. cool smile

Llamos comes from the verb llamar, which means to call. Llam + amos means we call in the present tense with no accents. Nombre usually means name. In order to say what is your name you would say, Cóme sé llama? or How do you call yourself? You can use the keyboard plus the alt keys to have accents above words with microsoft windows. Buen suerte (good luck), I hope this helped. Que le vaya bien. (That it goes well for you.) This que doesn't have an accent because it means "that" not what as in "qué".
