An English version: My question is this: is there a differance between Hogar and Casa? Both are listed as home, but im wondering if Hogar means homne as in "home is where your heart is" ( a more emotional home), vs Casa which might mean just a building. - johnm_mates, Jun 21, 2010

Hi John. Welcome to the forum.

Yes, you've got it right. "Hogar" is a home, where the heart is, and "Casa" is a house.

Although sometimes I notice that they are used interchangeably, i.e., "Mi casa es su casa" (My home is your home.)
