In Scooby Doo they refer to the cars on the rollercoasters as "autos de partido". Is this common? Gracias.

Could be another sort of a joke or play on words -- after all it is "Scooby Doo"

So ..... "auto de partido" could jokingly mean "party car"

After more consideration I am not sure about "party car" maybe "game car" is better ( ... Ummm ... guess I don't know either)

It's ok, Daniel, I think Jeezzle knows more Spanish than the two of us put together ... I was just practicing reading the whole question, addressing what was asked and planting a pic. - LateToDinner, Jun 20, 2010

Spanishdict would have me believe that rollercoaster is 'montaña rusa' so my guess would be:

coches montaña rusa

You will have to wait for the experts to weigh in to see if anybody subscribes to 'autos de partido.'

But for Scooby Doo, Party Car probably works.
