Why does only Spain use Vosotros/Vosotras conjegations?
I was wondering why no one else uses the vosotros forms. Would people in other Spanish speaking countries understand me if I used the vosotros/vosotras forms? Thank you for reading my question!

Yes hey, they all will understand I guess. They don't use it because you know they used to be Spain's colonies and in those times Spanish people obligated the colonies to use usted/ustedes when they talk with spanish people.. and of course that was years ago. And know they are accustomed to talking like that 
My Spanish professor answered this question for me in class yesterday. I asked specifically about Mexicans, because Mexican Spanish is what I'll be using. He said that the more educated would recognize it, though they don't use it. According to him, he has Mexican friends who did not recognize his use of vosotros conjugations, but that they also told him that his Spanish is "too textbook" and that it "has no flavor."
I suppose it depends on who you are talking to. Same sort of thing in the United States; depending on where you go, there are different dialects of English. I hear words and phrases every now and then that are completely new to me, but are apparently common in the north.

Ah so thats why when i listen to programmes directed at Americans trying to learn Spanish (and presumably visit Mexico) they only ever use ustedes. thanks
They would understand you but they may think that you are being over familiar which begs the question, are the Latinos more polite than the Spaniards?
