How do you say something "is worth waiting for"?

I'm trying to write this....
Although we can't be together as much as we'd like, this love of ours is worth waiting for.
and the translation I get is...
Aunque no podemos estar juntos tanto como nos gustaría, este amor nuestro se hace esperar.
The word esperar doesn't sound right... is there a better way to write this?
