Sentimiento y Sensación
Both translate as "feelings" Are there any rules for when to use either please.

I use "sentimiento" to convey the English word "feelings."
Example, "No quiero hacer daño a sus sentimientos."
I use "sensación" to convey the English word "sensation."
Example, "Tengo la sensación de placer."
"Sensación" can also mean "a great sensation (success-exito)."

Since you posted a response to what you search out I will definitely give my two cents. If I am not mistaken, "sentimiento" is a feeling on the inside of regret or sympathy and "sensación" is a feeling that you actually feel (a sensation so to speak). I am sure the gurus will weigh in soon.
