So as you can see from the previous answers the accent is really important, not only does it change the tense but it changes who's doing the action ![]()
construyo - I build - Present tense
se construyó - was built (by someone) - Past tense (preterite)

I am not exactly sure what you are asking, but if you want to know the preterit form of construir then it is construyó (with the accent mark on the letter o).
