Ceramic Dictionary: English - Spanish
Note: The word bat, is spelt batt in English ceramics which is correct for American ceramic spelling?
Bat has so many meanings that in my dictionary I put the noun before it to make classifying it and finding it easier.
Wheel batt: it is a disk which can be attached to a potter’s wheel; Plates and bowls are thrown and formed on a bat and when finished they are moved together, the bat serving as a tray as to lift the work up directly from the wheel head would distort it.
Wheel batt pins: are small protruding polls attached to the top, flat surface of a bat that slips into holes in the underneath flat surface of another bat that is put on top, this holds the two hold the two together while being turned,
Kiln batt wash is a refractory liquid applied to kiln shelves prior to the first glaze firing to prevent ware sticking and is also known as kiln wash
Kiln batts are all type of kiln shelves that come in many different shapes and sizes.
What is the correct transerlation the names for these parts in Spanish? The ones which are printed in bold letters?
