"Can I use you as a job reference?"

"Can I use you as a job reference?"

I'm applying for jobs, and I'd like to use my Spanish teacher as a reference on my applications. I'd like to email her in Spanish, and I don't want to make a fool of my self!

How do I say, "Can I list you as a reference?" or "Can I use you as a reference?" or something like that. I realize the word for reference is "referencia"; I'm just not sure about the "list"/"use" part.

Thanks for your help.

Students don't usually tutear the teacher. At least, not back when I rode a dinosaur to school. - 0074b507, Jun 13, 2010
