Don't forget the accents 
¿Cómo estás (tú) hoy?
(that's the friendly version for people you know well or those your age)
¿Cómo está (usted) hoy?
(this is the formal or more polite form)
¿Cómo están (ustedes) hoy?
(and this plural, for a group or a couple of people)

?hola que tal? (this is much like how are you doing but in simple words)
?como te encuetras hoy? (same as how are you, but in more polite words).
?como se encuentra esto? (how do you find this?) see the diference?
