¿Qué momento de la Copa Mundial de Fútbol que recuerdas más?

With me, I remember the match Portugal - England in World Cup 2006. Portugal is the team I supported in this World Cup. That match was very hard for the Portuguese players. I was extremely afraid in extra time. But Cristiano Ronaldo beat Paul Robinson. And Portugal won after Penalty shootouts.

Tuve muchísimo miedo en prórroga. Pero Cristiano Ronaldo ganó Paul Robinson. Y Portugal ganó después del lanzamiento de penaltis.

I hadn't either and figured I had better just to be able to follow along. God rewared me by having ESPN show me this incredible aerial view video of South Africa! - LateToDinner, Jun 12, 2010

In World Cup 2010, the last minutes of the extra-time of the match Uruguay - Ghana is one of the most exciting. Luis Suarez used his hand to block a shot of Ghana (and earned a red card). But Asamoah Gyan missed his penalty kick. And after that, Uruguay eliminated Ghana to advance to the 1st semifinal. Gracias, Suarez and his teammates, and bravo, Ghana. Clip

Spain was generally lucky for my country: we took the third place in 1982 and in the 1992 Summer Olympics we came second, loosing with.... Spain smile

I also remember, eight years ago, when instead of preparing ourselves to the exams, my friend Andrew and I went to a pub to have a few beers and watch the semi-final. The next day, the exam consisted of two parts: written and oral. We took the oral part in pairs, so Andrew and I went together. And the first and only question we were asked by our professor was the previuos day match result! We passed with flying colours, of course!

Bueno, también había un momento relacionado con fútbol y muy romántico en mi vida, pero hay cosas de cuales no se puede hablar, ¿no? wink

I look forward to my German boss and coworkers disappearing for hours while they go to the local sports bar to watch the German matches.

When in the 2006 World Cup, Zinedine Yazid Zidane, playing for France, was banned from the game final for headbutting Italian Marco Materazzi ,Italy went on to win!

And the other French players never said anything against him. Marco Materazzi must have deserved it. - ian-hill, Jun 12, 2010

It has to 1986 and The Hand of God. Maradona punching it over Shilton to give Argentina the lead. However his second was pure genius. Best moment for Scot has to be Gemmills goal against Holland in 1978 , pure genius, oh so so nearly!!

The wonderful shot that Frank Lampart (not sure how to spell his name) made which would have scored a goal for England in this year's match against Germany. But was dis-allowed on account of the fact that goal line technonolgy had not been accepted. Booo Hisssss lol

The theme and video at the beginning of this year's opening game! The shorter version leading into each of the subsequent games is okay but I want a copy of the long version: flying over the mountains and the valleys and waterfalls of South Africa. I was just in awe! The music and the colors enhanced the whole presentation for me but the countryside was just so beautiful.

My memories were of winking Ron caught on camera after he had raced across the pitch to encourage the ref to send Rooney off in the 2006 world cup.

Paul Gascoigne's tears at Italia 90. He was superb at that World Cup and he was harshly yellow carded but pulled himself together to play well for the rest of the game. I try to forget the penalties after that.

I was shocked at the tears and asked some macho Spanish amigos of mine what they thought. They said it was natural in life to sometimes be overcome by emotion. - JoyceM, Sep 6, 2010

The Kung-Fu kick to Xabi Alonso's chest.

Should have been a red card, in my book, but they got away with it.

Click here for you to decide.
