"Hold Hands"

Question

How do you say "to hold hands" with someone in Mexico? The dictionary suggested "cogerse de las manos," but I know coger has vulgar connotations in Mexico. Since I'm working with children who are mostly from Mexico, I'm thinking I shouldn't use that when I ask them to hold hands so we can all cross the street safely...Any other suggestions for ways to say it would be very appreciated!

For children you can say 'ir tomados de la mano' in Spain it is perfectly find to say 'ir cogidos de la mano'.

In Spain...let me emphasize, in Spain...not in Mexico...agarrar/tomar in Mexico are both ok, coger is offensive - alba3, Jun 8, 2010
