Tienes que fregar el suelo por favor.

For more info on giving commands, you can do the lesson for free here:

amykay, correction. What you wrote means "You have to mop the floor please." - Deanski, Jun 7, 2010
Yes, the more polite way is "Hay que...", but when the floor is dirty, I don't feel like being polite!! jejej :) - amykay, Jun 7, 2010

For a command: "Trapea el suelo." But that's like saying: "Mop the floor!" If you want to be more polite, you can use the conditional: "Podrias trapear el suelo, por favor." = "Could you mope the floor, please?"

"Por favor trapea el piso."

"fregar" is more like scrub.

You can also say: "Por favor pasa el trapeador." Which is more like, "pass the mop(on the floor)." It depends on the culture. For example, I am Mexican, and I knew a Costarrican that used to call the mop a "gancho." But for Mexicans a "gancho" is a hook, or a hanger....
