I think the "sierra" on the sentence refers to a girl's name.

Sierra means saw. But some mountain ranges are called sierras due to the shape of their summits which may remind of a saw serrated edge. eg. Sierra Nevada. After that people adopted Sierra as a person's name as well.

"Sierra" can mean a saw (the tool) or a mountain range.
