How would you say an "violin solo"?

I want to say:

"I would practice a lot, and sometimes I would play a solo." (I'm refering to when I would play the violin in elementary school.)

So I have: "Practicaba mucho, y a veces tocaba un solo."

First off, if this is correct, I would still like to know how to enunciate the word "solo." Do I say it with the stress on the first "o" or the last "o"? I looked it up, and I don't think there is an accent on it. (By the way, I'm planning out what I would say on an oral exam for spanish, so that's why I'm questioning my pronunciation.)

Gracias!

Yes, you're right.

"Solo" is the word to use for a musical solo. The emphasis is on the first "o."

"Solo de violín" would be a violin solo.
