Looks like I might be getting dumber
So Paralee teaches of the four "becomes" verbs. Hacer, poner, volver, convertir (I think they are all in SE form). Do you think Volver(se) is the only verb that could accomodate the sentence.
Me parece que me estoy volviendo más tonto/estupido. The me connects volver to volverse. Does this seem right? It's a line from How I met your mother (I'm trying to on the fly translate in my head these days) and I was wondering about it. Gracias.

Volverse indicates a sudden, profound change.
Ponerse indicates an involuntary physical or emotional change.
Therefore, I'd choose ponerse: Parece que me esté poniendo más tonto.

There is also a verb that you can use, atontar (to be stupid, to grow stupid).
How about: Parece que esté atontándome.
I'd use the subjunctive because I don't think it's a fact that I'm getting more and more stupid, it just seems so.
If permanently, or more profund, then yes - volverse would fit.
Well, atontar is an ineresting choice worth looking over, but I think ponerse is a temporary action which will be eventually changed, like getting drunk or getting sick, or getting better. On the other hand Volver is more permanent like going crazy, or getting permenantly dumber. I wonder what others have to say.
