Let me introduce "Mintie". Mintie is my daughter's pet snake. She is a Children's Python, named after John George Children. She is about 1 year old. Her diet consists of one rat each week - I kid you not.

Although Mintie is part of our family I think it is cruel to keep a wild animal like this in captivity. What do you think?

Oh one more interesting footnote. In my State (New South Wales) it is a crime to harm a native snake. They are protected under Legislation (National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 - S112). It's true!
