Lesson 3.4 typo ?

Lesson 3.2 on the use of hacer to express a period of time gives as an illustrating sentence: " Paró de fumar hace 10 años." Shouldn't the sentence be:" Se paró de fumar hace 10 años." ?

"Paró de fumar hace 10 años." is perfectly correct. "He/she stopped smoking 10 years ago."
"Se paró de fumar" is not grammatically correct.
