What is the best translation: (this person was hit by a car).

"He was thrown up a few feet and landed very hard on the ground".

My rendition:

Lo levanto unos pies y caio muy fuerte en el suelo.

I think "Lo levanto" (I assume you meant levantó) should be "Se echó."

Lo levantó = He/she/it lifted him (lo = him)

Se echó = He/she/it was thrown/tossed/cast

If you are writing in a formal setting, you could, perhaps, use the more technical passive voice, which works very similarly to our own English passive...

Fue echado unos pies....

However, I think the se-passive would be preferred. So, putting my suggestion together with Czubachowski's, you would get...

Se echó unos pies, y se cayó muy fuerte en el suelo.

"y se cayó" should be where "y caio" is.
