This is somewhere and nowhere right? Sé que estás en alguna parte. Sé que no estás en ninguna parte. Gracias.

Wait wait. Lado means side right? I know you are on some side? What does that mean? - jeezzle, Jun 3, 2010
..or algún/ningún sitio...yes, lado means side but it also means place - alba3, Jun 3, 2010
At least in Mexico that's the way we say. - AntMexico, Jun 3, 2010

That's right. You could also say "anywhere" for "alguna parte" and "not/anywhere" for "ninguna parte". See anywhere

Did you go anywhere yesterday? -> ¿Fuiste a alguna parte ayer?

No lo puedo encontrar en ninguna parte. I can't find him anywhere.

While Alba's "¿Fuiste a alguna parte ayer?" is grammatically fine, I can't imagine anyone saying it. What would I expect to hear?

"¿Adonde fuiste ayer?" "¿Que hiciste ayer?" or even "¿Fuiste a alguna parte interesante ayer?"

"Did you go anywhere yesterday" obviously lacks a key word to qualify the "anywhere" like "nice", interesting" or "new" so that without the key it sounds like a sterile example in grammar.

Alba - this isn't meant to decry your example - it's just the way it comes across to me.
