Le importaría = Would you care to?

Question

From this show I am watching: ¿Le importaría darme un masaje? I assume it is "Would you care to give me a massage"? I never would have thought importar could be used like that. I know no importa is it's not important and no me importa is "I don't care" but does everyone agree this context above is OK? Gracias.

in that context.

When you hit translate the page (Google) for this site it translates "le importaría" as "she wouldn't mind":

A Selena Gomez would not mind dating a nerd.

I see many titles Googling where "would mind" seems to fit well for "xx importaría"

Can't speak to how common it is but I've certainly encountered the [removed]enough so that it sounds reasonable to me). "Would you mind..." / "Would you care..." / "Would it bother/disturb you if ..." are all quite similar in meaning (and the operative words are also quite similar in meaning) in English so it shouldn't be surprising that one would/could say this in Spanish.
