Funny, funny, funny?

All three of these words translate as "funny." "cómico," "gracioso", y "divertido." Is there a difference in how and when I should use them?

Divertido doesn't mean funny; it means fun. Gracioso is the preferred word but cómico is also used. They're used exactly the same. Chistoso is another word that means funny; however, it's used only to describe personalities. Also, simpático can mean funny.

- entertaining (entretenido) (película, libro); enjoyable (fiesta)
- funny (que hace reír)
Fun sustantivo 1. diversión (f) to have fun -> divertirse
Funny adjetivo 1. Cómico, alegre, burlesco, gracioso, chistoso; bufón, mono, chulo.
