San Lucas storm

San Lucas storm

I'm passing along a link to a story about San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala. I have visited and worked at the mission there the past two years (my motivation for learning Spanish and coming to Spanishdict.com). You may heard of the tropical storm that hit Central America. The storms caused a mudslide in San Lucas. Ten people are dead and at least 400 homes have been destroyed. It's just heart wrenching. I can't imagine what it's like there right now.

Here is another link - a update from the mission.

Please keep everyone in the affected area in your thoughts and prayers. As often happens, the poorest of the poor are struck by Mother Nature, and lose what little they have.

Thank you so much for sharing. Central America has really been devastated. It is very sad to see. I too have a heart to go and work with disadvantaged people in similar areas. I have had some recent experience doing this and it was extremely moving for me.

I will keep this mission as well as the rest of Guatemala and Central America in my prayers.
