You pronounce beber the way it is spelled: like beh-behr, and you slightly roll the last r. Anyway, this website (SpanishDict) has a dictionary with pronounciation. Hope I helped

The 'r' doesn't need to be "rolled"... Only if it is at the beginning of the sentence, or if there are two of them/ - MeEncantanCarasSonrisas, Jun 2, 2010

You can get the pronunciation for Spanish words on this Web site!

All you have to do is type in the Spanish word in the Dictionary link at the top of each page on this Web site.

When you do that, you will get a response that shows a megaphone icon next to the Spanish word.

Click on the megaphone and you will hear the word pronounced!

Since when has beber ever meant to take? Perhaps you are thinking of llevar = to carry to take (away)n - FELIZ77, Jun 2, 2010
You can say Voy a tomar un café =I am going to have (literally to take ) a coffee but that doesnt mean that beber means to take in castiillian spanish - FELIZ77, Jun 2, 2010
exactly. You got me confused for a second there. I was like, "To take? wha??" - aznmania, Jun 2, 2010
unless beber has a regional meaning of which I am unaware - FELIZ77, Jun 2, 2010
If you say "baybear" it's unlikely anyone will understand. Both "e"s are short and no way diphthongized like "bear" in US English. Listen to the dictionary pronunciation. - geofc, Jun 2, 2010
geofc, this was used to show how to say it, not that you would say it any other way than in Engish, it's the sound I was going for here. :) - Jason7R, Jun 3, 2010

I think this is a difficult one because I hear thebeginning 'b' pronounced more like starting with an "mmm" sound before actually pronouncing the "b" every so lightly. The pronunciation of "B" and "V" in Spanish is confusing to me.

I think that most Spanish people will still understand you whether you say 'b' or 'v' It doesn't matter that much. If you asked a bunch of native Spanish speakers about one word that is spelled with a b or v, you would get different answers on how to say - lili5, Jun 2, 2010

You're here. Both questions: type the word into the translation box above and click on the speaker!

Sorry, if you wanted it to be more difficult!
