"together"...In the second: "you are taller than the man". You can drop "shorter than you" because it is understood. - Nicole-B, Jun 2, 2010

Can you imagine a woman who is 2 meters tall who is blind do you think she would feel embarrassed if her man was 5.5 . It is all Ego , why care what other people think, you walk around inside your own world that is the only world that matters . It is not the height of the person but the depth of their understanding, goodness and passion, all else is illusion.

Yes that may be the case but to most women it still feels awkward and uncomfortable if she dresses up and grows taller than her man by adding heels to her outfit - chicasabrosa, Jun 3, 2010
Then you are treating the man as an accesory, something which makes her look good in her eyes. Merely a large or small apendage , must he also be color code to suit her outfit?? - ray76, Jun 3, 2010
I agree completely, Ray. It's the beauty on the inside that will last in a relationship. - --Mariana--, Jun 3, 2010
What a curious way of mixing metric and imperial! (I assume you're not talking about a 5.5 m tall man!) - Gekkosan, Jun 3, 2010
No i realised after i started that the Americans would not understand the Metric but i forgot the foot and inches sign. No 5ft 5 inches still cant think of the signs. - ray76, Jun 4, 2010
5' 5" but do you mean 5 feet 5 inches or 5 and a half feet which would be 6 inches? - sagiia, Oct 17, 2010

In the horizontal plane, everyone is about the same height.

I've dated men who were short, tall, heavy, thin, black, white, etc. Only what's on the inside matters to me.

After many years in a relationship, how much is it going to matter what height or size a man is? What does matter is his personality.

El corazón el lo más importante. La belleza no lo es todo, la belleza es algo sólo superficial.

I always found it interesting and amusing (and wondered if it was just me) when a very short woman was with a very tall man.alt text

Of course the other extreme is also interesting.

I feel tall but am only 5' 4". I agree, it is a matter of perception. What is short to one person is tall to another. smile)

I prefer really tall men that are about 1.90-1.98. I am 1.67 m and don't like it when a man is the same height or smaller than me. My last boyfriend was the same height and I felt like a giant whenever I was wearing heels. It made me feel a lot less feminine.

I always have problems converting inches to centimetres when talking about people´s height long face

it´s nice to stroll around and to put your arm around your girlfriend´s shoulder and I guess it must be uncomfortable if the man is shorter. And when you dance some music it´s also difficult when the man is shorter. Otherwise, there should not be any problem.

I dont think girls go out with guys who are shorter than them unless they like him so much. But i personally will never go out with guys who are shorter than me.

I am prejudice and bias…oh and vain too. I'm 57, looking mid 40's and dating only women in their 30's. I'm lucky, tall, thin and more hair on my head than I really want to have (costs me a fortune in haircuts lol.) Short women, tall, blonde, brunette I really don't care as long as they are attractive to me…that includes somehow thin (limited padding accepted), pretty face, nice smile, big breast (I don't like boy-girls) and most important an immediate connection. Of course it is my choice, my life as I have gotten rid of the oppressive concept of love and marriage.

While I would date a taller woman, for some reason I am just more attracted to shorter women. No sé por qué. kiss

Why does the whole world have to use metric. Can't they see that we Americans are lost? jejeje - Nicole-B, Jun 2, 2010
210 cm = 6.88968 ft - is that close enough Nicole? - ian-hill, Jun 2, 2010
Are you sure about those figures Ian? 6'8"??!!! You should be playing basketball!! The average man is around 5'10 to 6'3. - Nicole-B, Jun 2, 2010
I said I was joking. I am 1:82 about 6 feet. - ian-hill, Jun 2, 2010
By the way I am about 12 stone and 6 pounds. (Know that one?) - ian-hill, Jun 2, 2010
Well Nicole it's simply because the whole world is just smarter. - sfrenchie, Jun 3, 2010

I have never had that experience. I am 5'4" and there are not many men who are 5'3" or less.

I did date someone who was only one inch taller than me. I remember feeling awkward when wearing heels when I was with him. So I guess I would have to say I was slightly uncomfortable.

However, I wasn't madly in love with him. I think it depends on how special the person is to you. Remember: Love is Blind. wink

Chmm.. I never had a friend shorter than me. I guess I would feel Very strange (even dating with one with similar height feels kinda strange). But it's a french-couple grin and nobody cares about the tallness when emotions are above both wink By the way, this thread reminded me typical basketballer and typical his wife in our country (there are lots): LOL

I'm 5' even (~1.5 m) and I have not even encountered a guy shorter than me that I became friends with, let alone date. My husband is is 5'10" (~1.77m) so he's quite a bit taller than me, but so have all the other men I've dated.
