Another "le" pronoun question
"Le escribí una carta a ella..."
Why is "le" used here? The direct and indirect objects are already there, the pronoun seems redundant.
I typed the English sentence into Google translate and it gave me the same thing, so it must be something obvious, but I can't see what it is.

The fact is that indirect object pronouns are not optional. The a ella is simply for clarification because ''le' can be: to him, to her, to you ![]()
