Negar VS negarSE

No puedo negarme. I can't refuse. I take it that NegarSE is the default for refuse. Any thoughts? Gracias.

Hi Jeezle. I also see the verb "rechazar" used for refuse/reject a lot in the news.

"Rechacé la oferta de trabajo." (I refused the job offer)

"Rechazó el plan." (He rejected the plan).

No puedo negarme....

Could that also mean "I can't deny myself" that last slice of pizza, that delicious piece of cake.

rechazar also has the nuance of "to reject"

They both can mean "to refuse".
