Eurovision Song Contest
Just what do we in England have to do in order to not get humiliated at the Eurovision Song Contest year after year. I know our song was not up to much but we weren't the worst song in the contest. There were at least 10 songs worse than ours, yet we came last again. What with the partisan voting that exists within certain countries, it would appear we are destined to continually fail. Or does anyone out there really care how we get on?
By the way, congratulations on Germany's win which I considered to be the best song.

I've never heard of the Eurovision Song Contest. If you keep losing, maybe you should try another approach.

Welcome to the club... I sometimes wonder who on earth (who in Poland) chooses the artist and the song for the contest!
Is England giving enough importance in coming up with its entry to the contest or are the other countries just ganging up against England?
I just heard about that on NPR (US National Public Radio). I think the US started American Idol because they weren't included in the European contest that has been on for ?40 years? and we would be afraid we would not win 
.
And maybe England Has Talent (?Britain? sorry not sure of the name, was created to compensate for the poor running in the Eurovision contest.
It is all a plot - a conspiracy to make us look bad. jeje

No wonder!, our song was so terrible, rarely anybody liked it even here and our domestic contest was full of scandals (again nothing new):(
But I have to agree that last couple of years I do not remember that the English representatives have made an impression...which is really strange having in mind all the great names in the history of music that your country has given...
I think the taste of the EuroSong audience changes very much year to year and I find it very hard to predict the next year's "win" criteria...sometimes it's the good voice, sometimes the spectacle on the scene, sometimes the folklore in the song is valued, sometimes the artistic perfection is required...
On the other hand probably not too many of the English living outside of the country are interested in voting...or in EuroSong as an event...cause many or the points are won through the country's nationals living abroad...for example Turkey got 12 from Germany, cause many Turks live and work in Germany and they voted...

My question is, why haven't we been invited to the party?

As I have mentioned earlier, the choice of the song and singer is big business in England. In the past a television programme has been dedicated to it over several weeks both in choosing the song and the singer. This year we had a professional song writer, Pete Waterman, who has many hits. Was he the wrong choice? Well as we came last, one could conclude yes.
1) writing the songs and 2) organising tv programmes so the nation can vote for the best song, but to no avail.
Now, i wonder if we would have done better with her She was the one voted by the public, but she is so freaky that they found a reason to avoid her participation.
She called herself popstar queen, omg. She did make it to front page of one of the most important national newspapers., jeje

We have even started getting professionals involved in 1) writing the songs and 2) organising tv programmes so the nation can vote for the best song, but to no avail. I am coming to the conclusion that nobody likes us, boo hoo.
It is nice of us to come last in something.

I would like to see the face expresions of Ange** Mer*** (the german) when they will ask her money for the scene and for the luxarious contest (they are not cheap for a stingy woman) .
For the umpteenth year running I went to sleep at the beginning of it and woke up at the end of it!
Well Eddy , I think Marianne almost hit the nail on the head here, the British organizers could always talk to Baron Frankenstein, have him resurrect Hughie Green and place him Hughie on the judging panel, Hughie fixed many of the outcomes on " opportunity knocks " so the Eurovision contest ,should be a cake walk for him.
