Home fries

There is a lot of overlap in these names. I grate potatoes so that they are in long strips, then fry them and I call those hash browns. For a lot of restaurants home fries are the little cubes of potatoes, other call them hash browns.

"Papas gratinadas fritas con cebolla". It's the "gratinada" that makes the difference. If you don't like onion leave it out. If you want other bits and things in it, look them up and add them. Who knows, you might just get something like hash browns.

I don't recommend you to ask for British "Bubble and Squeak" though. That's a tad more difficult.

Well hash browns are a bit different from regular patatas fritas, but I imagine it is different in different places... croquetas de patata
