The context is baking cookies in an oven on a flat pan that usually has short sides (about 1 cm high).

I didn't see anything that looked quite right in the translators associated with this site.

After reading some posts on the Word Reference forum, the terms seem to vary by region.

  1. Columbia - latas para el horno
  2. Spain - bandeja para el horno
  3. Argentina - placa para horno

I'm agree with Geoff--It seems as though any of them would be understood.

I tried looking for baking sheets, a more generic name for the same thing, not that it helped a lot.

An empanadas recipe simply called it a "lata" while a pan cubano recipe said, "placas de hornear". No doubt there are lots of variations out there but this one sounded as if it would be understandable whether or not it's the target audience's favorite term.

I hope this helps.
