Marten actually means Marta if it's an animal (Pine Marten), otherwise is just a name, like Jason suggested

As cute as Marten is, a name in English is the same in Spanish. A name is a name. You wouldn't call a store here in the U.S. by the name of "Target" anything but "Target" in any other language. Hope this helps. smile

I know it might be late in the ballgame but if you want your pet to have a Spanish name, give him/her one instead of Marten. Just a thought.
