When do you use the word "pelo" or "cabello"

'Cabello' is only the hair on your head whereas 'pelo' is hair in general.

Cabello es sólo el pelo de la cabeza, pelo el de cualquier parte del cuerpo.

Pelo also means fur on an animal but cabello never can.
