I have done a couple of resume preparation workshops for Latinos and tend to use "resumen". Is"hoja de vida" more appropriate? Thanks.

En España se utiliza la forma latina "Curriculum Vitae" aunque coloquialmente se puede usar sólo la palabra Curriculum. In Spain you'd use the latin form "Curriculum Vitae" although in a more casual environment you could use just the word Curriculum.

"Voy a presentar mi curriculum a esta empresa" (morre casual)

"adjunto al documento mi Curriculum Vitae para su consideración" (formal)

Adding to what Gekkosan said, in many countries inculding Spanish speaking countries they use curriculum vitae which are more detailed and have different format from a American style résumé. Hence the use of the term in Spanish. Even in the U.S. in some profession curriculum vitae are peferred to résumés.

"Hoja de vida" is good. In some places they prefer to use "currículum". In Venezuela, for example, you are always expected to submit your "currículum " or "CV" for any job application.
