Ana, my answer was trying to get him to look into the dictionary and learn for himself how to find out whether a noun is masculine or feminine. He needs to learn how to use the dictionary. - --Mariana--, May 25, 2010

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If you look up your word in the dictionary, located at the top of this page, you will get an (f) for feminine or (m) for masculine after the word.

In the case of "limonada" the dictionary actually tells you what gender the noun is.

If it's feminine you use "la" and if it's masculine you use "el."
